Welcome! I am Piet. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz in the Walther Group. My scientific work currently focuses on getting dead things to act a little bit like alive things (non-conventional neuromorphic computing). In my PhD work, I looked at the self-assembly of colloidal particles.
In my free time, I spent time hiking, rowing, reading, and toying with computers. That last one at least sort of explains the existence of this website.
